How is a 1950's Kitchen THIS Awesome?

I like a lot of the things that came from the 1950’s era. Yes, I know this video is from 1949 but it is part of that era. They make a lot of good points here about working smarter and not harder through changing the environment.

Revolving corner storage isn’t a basic staple in modern kitchens and considered a luxury. Why? Why have we not modernized this in such a way it is inexpensive to build into a kitchen?

Built in storage instead of canisters? Save on counter space? Yes! We need more of this. Make them removable for cleaning.

We can learn a lot from state of the art 1950’s kitchens. We have had 70 years to implement these wonderful ideas and we have not. Why? For over 50 years revolving storage was a completely forgotten concept and they just brought it back.

In 2019 I’m sitting here oogling a kitchen from 1949 for how cutting edge it is. I think the problem is we focused on appliances and appearances and not how something works. In recent years with the rise of youtube and people wanting things organized, easy, and clever has led to new ways to optimize our living spaces. Maybe this will lead to better kitchens on a budget, built in such a way to make our lives better and not more challenging. No one wants to work eight hours and then come home and cook in a frustrating environment.

Do you have any ideas to optimize modern kitchens that can be built in?
