Chronicles of Elyria Hype 3- The Video Heavy Edition

Hello! I'm sorry I took some time off so abruptly. I needed to adjust to a new job and I'm still not completely adjust physically and it's been three weeks. Thankfully, next weekend is a four day weekend so that will be a nice little break for me. So, let's get into what you're here for, Elyria content! Keep in mind this blog is my opinion. Someone got a little upset over how excited I got in the last blog and I had to turn off anonymous commenting because they were not very nice about it.

This week I want to focus on some of the stuff posted on the official youtube channel. The 'shinys', as they're come to be known as, have been a very big part of the content reveals for the game so far, giving the community a taste of pre-Elyria as the devs work to bring us all the wonderful things they have promised for the game.  I'm only covering the videos in this blog but there are many more posts on the forums of concept art and such.

Back in March of 2016 we got our first look at the game as what it is meant to be as far as graphics and movement of the character is concerned. I really love the detail they have put into the landscape.

Then they went a step further and showed us what it's like when it snows. Notice that the longer is snows, the more snow you will see on the ground.

Do you like death lore? Do you like world story lore? I like lore.

Aging and body changes preview. This will be interesting. Remember that if you dont want to be fat, you have to be active.

Want to see a mann do a flip off a roof?

Oh, here is where they introduced combat back in May 2016. Anyone else reminded of The Princess Bride? Also, do you see the blood animations? Makes me wonder how much of that is going to be in the final product.

Here is their interaction preview. You can hear his footsteps and the sound of him blowing out the lantern before stealth-ing and sneaking into that house to take stuff.

Here is content of a village and the surrounding area. You can tell there is a breeze when you look at the grass and the water. They also show a larger settlement here, possibly a capital city? Maybe a fortress? Who knows.

Here is a look at some of the creatures and forests and the populated settlements in the game. Lots more lively with life in it.

They have a PAX Speed Run from the 2017 demo. The detail in the demo is amazing and it looks like an actually challenge with platforming and no clear showing of where you are supposed to go, which is nice. The first enemy you encounter seems to be holding his head before he attacks.

Here's is an actual walkthough of the silver mine. It has lore and you learn a little about it here. I'm excited to see what the lore is for this area. This is essentially their tutorial.

This video is all about animal animations.

Here's their jousting gameplay.

Pre-Elyria playtest footage. It doesn't have the pretty graphics but it does give some ideas about base character creation and how some things are working as of now. This is not the finished game.

This one was just posted a couple days ago to preview how the ambient and world sounds play.

So far this is what they have for game footage on their youtube channel. I recomend keeping an eye on it for Q&A's and more game footage.
